Enjoy Scotland’s Finest Long Walk In The Company Of Fellow Supporters
The West Highland Way is one of Scotland’s most famous walks and passes through stunning scenery and landscapes as it follows ancient and historic routes over 95 miles from Milngavie outside Glasgow to Fort William in the Highlands.
The Foundation hopes to gather a team of supporters together to take on this week-long challenge beginning on Sunday 30 May 2010 so that participants can enjoy a real team atmosphere on the route and relax over a well deserved meal or drink together in the evenings.
The itinerary for the week is as follows -
• Day 1 – Milngavie to Drymen: 12 miles
• Day 2 – Walk to Rowardennan: 15 miles
• Day 3 – Walk to Inveranan: 13 miles
• Day 4 - Walk to Tyndrum: 12 miles
• Day 5 - Walk to Kingshouse: 20 miles
• Day 6 - Walk to Kinlochleven: 9 miles
• Day 7 - Walk to Fort William: 14 miles
Experienced walking company Mac’s Adventure will be providing all participants with quality bed and breakfast style accommodation throughout and will even carry your backpack to each stop for you!
There are 2 ways to take part in the West Highland Way with the Rangers Charity Foundation –
• You can raise sponsorship of £770 from family and friends and walk the West Highland Way for free OR
• You can pay for the cost of the accommodation and bag carrying service yourself (£385 per person plus an £80 supplement if you require a single room) and raise sponsorship money for the Foundation. We suggest a minimum of £385.
