Foundation Launches Kit Appeal
The Rangers Charity Foundation is appealing to Rangers fans to donate any unwanted football kit to help communities around the world. Over recent years the Foundation has donated hundreds of shirts to projects and communities in countries such as Malawi, Zambia, Afghanistan and Guyana. With your support the Rangers Charity Foundation would like to be able to help even more people enjoy football in some of the world’s poorest areas. As well as donating kit you can also nominate projects or communities that you would like the Foundation to send kit to.
So, if you have any unwanted children’s or adults football strips or boots in good condition please hand it in to the Rangers Charity Foundation at Argyle House Reception, Ibrox or to The Rangers Ticket .
Our campaign has been given a huge boost by JJB Sports who will be donating 1500 unused shirts to be sent to projects and communities around the world.
Thank you for your support, and if you would like to find out more about this project or how you can help please contact the Rangers Charity Foundation on 0141 580 8775 or by emailing

For Communities Around The World…..
Case study – Mulembo, Zambia
The Foundation has made two donations of kit in recent years to a rural community in Zambia following a request from Lackson Chama, who describes below what a difference this type of donation can make.
“Mulembo Village is located in Chief Chitambo’s Chiefdom, in northern Serenje district of Zambia. The chiefdom lies in one of the poorest and largely socio-economically isolated regions in the country. The chiefdom has no socio-amenities and for many youths, drug abuse and alcoholism are the best sources of recreation. A few years ago, this resulted into violence, civil disobedience and disorder in communities.
The chiefdom has many talented footballers whose skills (if exposed) could potentially attract the attention of some of the biggest football leagues in the world and contribute to the glory of Zambian football. Hence, the donation of football shirts from Rangers Charity Foundation could not have come at a better time. The kit donations have undoubtedly acted as a key source of rehabilitation amongst the youths in the chiefdom.
As well as football strips, the other major equipment they need most is football boots. It doesn't matter whether they are used or not, they would be greatly appreciated, as they would make a huge difference for many footballers here. These footballers are exciting to watch and very talented, however, most of them have to play with bare feet and get badly bruised due to a lack of football boots. Nevertheless, it remains crystal clear that they really like the sport, but they take a lot of risks to play with bare feet.
I would like to say a big thank you to the Rangers Charity Foundation for their unwavering support in the past two years. The people of Mulembo and the Chitambo chiefdom would be very grateful if this support could continue. Remember, it’s not only Mulembo football club, there are more than ten football clubs within this region who would be delighted to benefit from these donations. I am very proud to be associated with the project whose donations are positively transforming and rehabilitating lives amongst the youths in one of Zambia’s poorest regions. Thank you Rangers Charity Foundation for your support to the citizens of my country.”
