Collection for Poppyscotland

Thu 27th October 2016

The Rangers Charity Foundation will host a can collection for Poppyscotland at Ibrox on Saturday, 29 October as part of Rangers FC’s activities to commemorate Remembrance Day at the match against Kilmarnock.

Poppyscotland supports ex-servicemen and women and their families, providing life-changing support for the Armed Forces community.  The charity helps at times of crisis and need, offering vital, practical advice, assistance and funding.

Poppyscotland is also one of the charities benefitting this season from the Foundation’s Armed Forces Partnership, which has pledged to raise £25,000 for four vital services-related charities – Erskine, Poppyscotland, The Rifles Regimental Trust’s Care For Casualties appeal and Combat Stress.

The team will also wear special commemorative poppy shirts in honour of the fallen and the majority of these will be donated to services related charities to raise further funds for serving personnel and veterans.

Poppyscotland Chief Executive Mark Bibbey said: “We are extremely grateful to everyone at Rangers Football Club for their continued support of the Scottish Poppy Appeal, which means that members of the Armed Forces community can continue to receive the vital services that they rely on.”
