The Rangers Charity Foundation is contributing £5,000 to the Govan Ward Community Budgeting Fund supporting local projects and services in the area.

Community and voluntary organisations are able to apply for a grant from a £25,000 pot of funding, with the deadline for applications being MONDAY 9TH JANUARY 2017.  Awards range from £300 up to a maximum of £2,500 per project.  For more information on the application process, please click here.

A community event will be held on Wednesday 25th January between 6pm and 8.30pm at the Clyde Community Hall, Whitefield Road, Ibrox.  The public who attend the meeting will vote on which projects will receive grants, with the beneficiaries announced at the end of the event.

If you live in the local Govan area, this is your chance to get directly involved with important decisions for your area!  Plus, if you are part of a local community group, you could be eligible for a grant to help with your latest project.

Foundation Director Connal Cochrane commented, “We’re delighted to contribute to this new scheme which allows local people to have a greater influence over how community services are developed and delivered and will hopefully help many community based organisations and worthwhile projects.

“At the Foundation we are very much looking forward to seeing which projects will benefit and watching the impact of our donation on the local community as initiatives are rolled out over the course of the year.”
