Arran Cycle Challenge
Event Date: Sat 26th May 2018
Get on your bike for the Rangers Charity Foundation and join our Arran Cycle Challenge!
Our Arran Cycle Challenge is returning for a second year after a fantastic event in 2017.
There are 2 distances you can choose from this year to suit various cycling abilities -
72 miles – This new - longer distance - will see riders cycle a figure of eight, traversing the island, starting and finishing in Brodick. This route should take 6-8 hours depending on fitness levels but is for experienced / fit cyclists only.
55 miles – A straight-forward full loop of the island (travelling clockwise) which should take roughly 4-6 hours depending on fitness levels.
The route mainly features quiet single track roads, allowing you to make the most of the views as you pedal your way around or across the island. Although the cycle does involve some challenging hills, even a novice cyclist could take part with just a few weeks of training. It's not a race, so just take your time and enjoy the ride!
Participants will require a roadworthy bike to take part and we would request that you have your bike safety checked beforehand. Wearing a cycle helmet will also be mandatory.
We will provide support vehicles, snack and water stops, lunch and return ferry tickets for you and your bike within the registration fee of £45. To sign up call 0141 580 8775 to pay your registration fee and secure your place.
We would ask that all participants raise £150 or more in sponsorship. Funds raised will help the Foundation make a real difference on behalf of the Rangers Family. Whether we're supporting our charity partners or our own community programmes, every penny raised will go a long way.
Remember, every cyclist taking part has the chance to become a True Blue Hero. If you raise over £100 for the Foundation you will be invited along to an exclusive reception at Ibrox where you will be presented with a medal by a first team player!
