Ibrox Big Spinathon 1,872 Mile Challenge

Wed 11th October 2017

The Rangers Charity Foundation is launching a unique new marathon cycle challenge for supporters – the Ibrox Big Spinathon.

We are looking for 72 supporters to sign up and each cycle 26 miles on static spin bikes on the track surrounding the pitch – with the Stadium providing one of the most inspiring backdrops for any challenge.

Combined, participants will cover an amazing 1,872 miles at the event, which will take place over the afternoon of Friday the 24 of November, all day Saturday 25 November, and the morning of Sunday 26 November.

All participants will have a three hour slot to complete their marathon distance. The challenge is open to all over 12 years of age (those under 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult) and is achievable for those without any experience on a spin bike.

The event is set to be a truly memorable experience. Each participant will get to enter the Stadium through the front door and walk down the tunnel just like the players do on a matchday.

Throughout each time slot we will offer all cyclists water and snacks to keep them going and we will even provide an exclusive Ibrox Big Spinathon T-shirt – there are only 72 of these being made!

We will be there at all times and will put some music on to motivate and inspire participants. Those who sign up are invited to bring along a couple of members of their family or friends to sit in the stand and provide some additional  support.

To register and book your preferred day and time slot call the Foundation now on 0141 580 8775 or email rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk. Supporters are invited to sign up for a slot on their own or we can accommodate people in groups with their friends and family.  We will take a £10 registration fee to secure your place, which includes your T-shirt which you will receive on the day of your challenge.

All funds raised from this event will be used to help the Rangers Charity Foundation continue to make a big difference on behalf of the Rangers Family.  Whether it is supporting one of our charity partners or ensuring we can continue to make a difference locally through our community programmes, every single mile cycled and £1 raised will make a real impact.

As with all of our challenge events each participant who takes on this challenge and raises £100 or more in sponsorship will become a True Blue Hero and be invited along to an exclusive reception at Ibrox Stadium to be presented with a medal by one of the Rangers First Team!

The Foundation would like to say a special thank you to Paul Ferguson from Fitness Takeaway for making this challenge possible by kindly donating 10 spin bikes for use in this challenge!
