LEAP With the King’s Trust

The LEAP (Learning, Employability, Achieve) programme helps 15–16-year-old school leavers build confidence and prepare for life after school. The Rangers Charity Foundation, in partnership with The King’s Trust, runs this free, part-time course across six themed days. It gives young people real experience, clear goals, and encouragement to move forward into employment, education, or training.

What the Programme Includes

During the six themed days, participants take part in interactive workshops, mentoring sessions, and real-world experiences. Each session focuses on a different area of personal and professional growth.

For example, young people:

  • Earn recognised qualifications and certificates at no cost.

  • Create impressive CVs with the guidance of mentors and coaches.

  • Explore potential careers through interactive, hands-on workshops.

In addition, mentors support each participant to set clear goals and plan their next steps. As a result, every young person leaves the course with a practical action plan and stronger confidence.

Why the Programme Matters

Many school leavers at 15 or 16 feel uncertain about their next move. However, the LEAP programme gives them structure, encouragement, and inspiration.

It helps participants by:

  • Providing positive role models and supportive guidance.

  • Developing leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.

  • Connecting them with local employers and training opportunities.

Furthermore, the programme strengthens confidence and self-belief. Therefore, each participant finishes the course feeling motivated and ready to take the next step.

Who Can Take Part?

The LEAP programme welcomes school leavers aged 15–16 who want help planning their future. There are no entry requirements, all you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

The course is completely free, ensuring everyone has equal access. Moreover, staff create a friendly and inclusive environment where every young person feels supported from day one.
