Towards Better Futures

The Towards Better Futures programme provides young people with structured support at the Ibrox Community Complex. Delivered by the Rangers Charity Foundation, the programme offers two tailored pathways to meet different needs. Whether you’re a school leaver without a destination or an S3 pupil needing extra support.

Two Pathways: Next Steps & Awards & Destination

Next Steps (for school leavers)

If you’ve recently left school and don’t yet have a clear plan, the Next Steps pathway helps you move forward. Over a flexible four-week (or more) course, you’ll:

  • Gain SQA awards such as First Aid and Mental Health First Aid

  • Receive support to build your CV and make strong job applications

  • Enjoy football sessions alongside mentoring and destination planning

Awards & Destination (for S3 pupils)

If you’re in S3 and struggle with engagement in mainstream education, the Awards & Destination pathway is designed for you. Across a four-week (or tailored) programme you’ll:

  • Work towards SQA awards in a less formal environment at the Ibrox Community Complex

  • Get mentoring support to plan your next steps after school

  • Build confidence and engagement through structured learning and activity

Why It Matters

Many young people face barriers when leaving school or moving into further education or work. The Towards Better Futures programme tackles this by providing meaningful alternatives and real-world support. It:

  • Recognises your achievements through SQA awards

  • Strengthens practical skills like CV building and job-application preparation

  • Creates a safe and engaging setting where you can succeed

  • Connects you to next-step opportunities in training, education or employment

Who Can Join?

The programme welcomes:

  • School leavers without a planned destination

  • S3 pupils who would benefit from additional support and recognition
Whichever pathway you join, the course adapts to your needs and includes mentoring, awards and engaging activities.
