Celebrating 20 Years of the Rangers Charity Foundation
Tue 20th June 2023
Over the course of this season, we have been celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Foundation with our supporters, and the milestones and achievements of the last two decades.
We loved our matchday takeover event in October, when the Foundation’s special 20th anniversary logo could be seen everywhere around the Stadium – including on the players strips!
Supporters helped us celebrate by posing with our selfie board, buying our special 20th Anniversary badges and reading our 20-year timeline piece in the matchday programme.
Our flag flew above the Stadium and we showed our 20th anniversary video on the screens before the game and at half time. Plus, the club made a special presentation to the Foundation in the Blue Room to mark 20 years of commitment to helping others on behalf of the Rangers Family.
Another highlight was our annual charity ball, all themed around our Platinum anniversary. Fittingly, we raised a record breaking total on the night of £112,000, which will help us continue to carry out our vital work in the community and with our charity partners.
Twenty years ago, the Foundation was a very small charity with just one employee. Two decades on, the Foundation has over 20 employees and 18 part-time community coaches, delivering over 20 programmes in the local community.
We have donated over £6.3 million in cash and in-kind contributions to date to a range of charities, grassroots projects and fundraisers. We hope you are as proud as we are of these amazing achievements – and we couldn’t have done any of it without the incredible support of the Rangers Family.
Foundation Director Connal Cochrane said:
“Having been here for 17 of the Foundation’s 20 years, I feel privileged to have been witness to the growth of the Foundation and our unique ability to help so many organisations and individuals across two decades.”
“The generosity of our supporters and the whole Rangers Family never ceases to amaze me and we look forward to continuing to make a genuine difference to the lives of people in need locally, nationally and internationally.”
