A new, limited edition Fernando Ricksen print has been released, with proceeds going towards MND Scotland and the Rangers Charity Foundation.

Metal Gallery have 1,872 prints on sale in honour of Fernando, whose life was tragically cut short at the age of 43 following a six-year battle with motor neurone disease.

Elected to the Rangers Hall of Fame in 2014, Dutch international Fernando Ricksen made 182 appearances for Rangers scoring 13 goals. During his six years at the club from 2000 to 2006, Fernando won two Scottish Premier League titles, two Scottish Cups and three Scottish League Cups.

Speaking about the new print, close friend of Fernando, Vincent de Vries, said: “We were delighted to hear about the new Fernando prints and their support for MND Scotland and the Rangers Charity Foundation.

“These two charities are close to all our hearts and, on behalf of all of Fernando’s family, we’re delight to know that fans will be able to celebrate his legacy whilst supporting important causes.

“Seems like a fitting tribute, as Fernando himself was made out of metal.”

The Fernando print competition is being ran by Rangers Charity Foundation, in conjunction with Metal Gallery which has donated the prize.

The competition will run from 12pm on Wednesday 25 November – 12pm Wednesday 2^nd December 2020. Entries after this point will not be considered.

Any person with an Instagram account can enter the competition. To take part, account holders must:

A winner will be selected at random on Thursday 3^rd December. The will be contacted directly on Instagram on this day. The winner then has 48 hours to respond and claim their prize, before another is selected at random.

The competition prize is the 1,872^nd edition of the Fernando Ricksen print, donated by Metal Gallery and worth £89. This will be available for collection or posted free of charge to the winner.
