Get fit and support children in Scotland!

Wed 1st July 2020

Children 1st and the Rangers Charity Foundation invite you to join Personal Trainer Scott Marshall on Sunday July 5th for a live workout you can do at home. The workout will be suitable for all ages and abilities so it’s a great way to get the whole family involved! Spaces are limited so sign up now to take part in a fitness activity that raises money for two great charities.

To take part we’re asking for a minimum donation of £5.00, you can also donate more if you wish. Proceeds will be split between the Rangers Charity Foundation and their National Partner, Children 1st.

Scott, a long-term support of the Rangers Charity Foundation, will be a familiar face to many supporters as he often leads the warm-up before Foundation fundraising events, such as the Blue All Over Fun Run. Scott will be joined on the workout by Children 1st’s Director of Fundraising – and lifelong Rangers fan – Gary Kernahan.

Scott wanted to organise his own fundraising event after hearing how both charities have been massively affected by the cancellation and postponement of fundraising events. He said, “both charities do amazing work and I wanted to give something back to help them during the coronavirus lockdown.”

Money raised for Children 1st will support their national helpline and digital support service, Parentline. Children 1st Parentline is there for all families, whenever they need support. During lockdown, Parentline has directly supported 1113 families; 40% more than for the same period in 2019. They’ve also seen the number of visitors to their webpages increase by almost 400%. Many families are reaching out worried about their financial futures and Children 1st have had to expand their Money Advice Service to support families nationally via Parentline in order to meet demand.

Money raised for the Rangers Charity Foundation will go towards its pledge of donating £20,000 to Children 1st in 2020, with a focus on supporting the important work done via its Parentline.

You can talk it over with Parentline by phone 08000 28 22 33, by email parentlinescotland@children1st.org.uk or online www.children1st.org.uk/parentline.
