Help us to keep Ibrox beautiful

Tue 24th October 2017

Ibrox has been the home of Rangers for over 100 years and is an area we are proud to be part of.

Starting this Sunday (October 29) we are arranging a series of regular clean up events and are looking for a team of people to enter into the community spirit with us, and help us to make a real difference to the area around the Stadium.

If you have 90 minutes to spare on Sunday then please join us at the entrance to Argyle House (situated at the back of the Sandy Jardine Stand) for 11am before heading out together for an hour or so.

Duties may include litter picking around local streets and helping identify areas that may require a little bit of extra care and attention.

Once finished we will then head back  to Ibrox for some well deserved refreshments.

Announcing the first of the Keep Ibrox Beautiful events, Karen Mathie, the Rangers Charity Foundation’s Senior Charity Executive said: “As an active member of the community we already have a number of local projects in place such as our walking football programme and weekly football fans in training sessions. This new initiative builds on that even further as we strive to continue playing our part in being a good neighbour.”

We are working together with Community Safety Glasgow to arrange the clean ups  which are suitable for people of all ages, although anyone under the age of 16 who volunteers will need to be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

No experience is necessary and all equipment will be provided – volunteers should wrap up warm and bring their own waterproof jacket.

Keep Ibrox Beautiful events will count towards the 25 hour target set by the Foundation for  volunteers who wish to become True Blue Hero volunteers.

Each person who volunteers 25 hours of their time or more to any of our designated volunteering projects is recognised as a True Blue Hero in the same way as those who fundraise £100 or more for us by taking on a personal challenge.  This means they will be invited along to an exclusive reception at Ibrox to be presented with a True Blue Hero medal and pin badge by a First Team player on completion of their 25 hours volunteering.

Our scheduled Keep Ibrox Beautiful events will take place on the following dates and times:
· Sunday 29th October, 11am–12:30pm
· Sunday 12th November, 11am–12:30pm
· Sunday 17th December, 11am–12:30pm

To sign up for any of the dates or for further information on volunteering opportunities with the Rangers Charity Foundation email the Foundation at rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk or call 0141 580 8775.
