£94,000 raised at the Rangers Charity Foundation’s Circus Ball

Tue 5th November 2019

The Rangers Charity Foundation’s annual Charity Ball raised an amazing £94,000 at the Hilton Glasgow on Saturday night, with over 450 guests enjoying a fantastic dinner and entertainment themed around the Circus, including a fire eater and sword swallower together with live music from Big Vern n the Shootahs.

The ballroom at the Hilton was transformed into a big top, with its very own Ringmaster, and the event was hosted by TV sports presenter David Tanner.

All profits from the evening will be used to support the Foundation’s growing work in the community and with our charity partners, including some of the projects highlighted on the evening.

Speakers who had themselves benefitted from projects such as the Foundation’s Dream Fund, Wider Achievement Employability project and our work with the Armed Forces were on hand to tell to guests about the incredible difference their support makes. Including Kenneth Boyd, whose dad, Dougie, was invited for a suprise Dream Day experience during the Rangers First Team photo.

He said: “It’s impossible to overestimate the difference this has made to my dad, and I’m sure the many others too. Just being able to meet one of your heroes, never mind the full team, is something really special.

The charity foundation really does amazing things for Rangers fans; they’re not wrong in saying it’s the Rangers family! I cannot thank them enough.”

Connal Cochrane, Rangers Charity Foundation Director, said: “I would like to thank everyone who came along and made the night such a success.

“We are delighted £94,000 was raised and had a fantastic  evening celebrating the impact of the Rangers Charity Foundation.

“The Foundation really does bring the Rangers Family together to help transform people’s lives for the better in Glasgow, across Scotland and beyond.

“The support shown by the Club, sponsors, supporters and everyone who generously donated prizes and their expertise is hugely appreciated. It was a really special evening and we are already looking forward to next year!”
