Rangers Charity Foundation joins Football Is More Family

Thu 30th March 2023

The Rangers Charity Foundation joins the likes of Chelsea Foundation, Real Madrid Foundation, AC Milan, Benfica, PSG, Manchester City and Arsenal in the Community as the newest member of the Football is More Family.

The Football is More Foundation (FIM) is a European network of experts composed of football clubs, non-profit organisations, educational establishments and businesses which was created in 2011 to support and nurture disadvantaged people through the power of football – and therefore to empower them in the long term. Based in Liechtenstein, they focus particular attention on children and young people who are socially disadvantaged, have mental and/or physical disabilities or live in crisis areas and developing countries.

In 2019, the Football is More Foundation presented a prestigious international social responsibility award to Rangers FC and The Foundation in 2019 in recognition of its  life-changing work.

As part of the partnership, the Rangers FC Academy team will be invited alongside a team representing the Rangers Charity Foundation to the biennial International Helvetia Cup in Switzerland/Liechtenstein.   The Foundation will also join fellow FIM Family members for forum meetings to share experiences and good practice.

Connal Cochrane, Rangers Charity Foundation Chief Executive (pictured with Creag Robertson, Head of Football Business) said:

“We are delighted to be invited to partner with the Football is More Foundation. With a shared strategic focus on social inclusion, education, health and diversity, we look forward to an active member of the Football Is More Family of Clubs and foundations, working together on projects to improve the opportunities and lives of young people in particular and showcasing the link between community and elite football.”

Hanspeter Rothmund, Football is More Managing Director commented:

“We are convinced that the Rangers Charity Foundation, with its knowledge, experience and passion for social projects, as well as its drive for innovation and individuality, will be a great addition for us. The Foundation has grown and developed in recent years and is involved in important social projects both at home and abroad.

Recently, we had the opportunity to see some of these projects first hand and were impressed by the passion, commitment and hard work of the Foundation. We extend a warm welcome to Rangers Charity Foundation and look forward to working together on many social projects in the near future.”
