Members of the Rangers Family including Women’s A Player Tessel Middag were joined by thousands to celebrate Glasgow’s Pride Mardi Gla event.

As part of its ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion and support of the Everyone Anyone campaign, Rangers Football Club, Rangers Charity Foundation and Ibrox Pride were proud once again to take part in the march on Saturday 15 July 2023.

Event organisers have reported that this year, almost 50,000 participants walked from Glasgow Green to George Square in a colourful procession (more than double last year’s total). The event in 2019 march involved 10,000 participants.

Rangers staff and supporters were offered the chance to wear branded T-shirts and walk behind a specially created banner which said, ‘We are proud to be for everyone and anyone’

Tessel said, “I enjoyed taking part in the Glasgow Pride March to send out the signal that Rangers is a club for everyone and anyone including the LGBT+community.

“I think it is important that we send out a message that everyone is welcome – the more people that feel comfortable and welcome in football and Rangers specifically the more fans and support we will have.”

Keir Stewart from Ibrox Pride said:

“We were delighted to join with staff from the Rangers Charity Foundation, Rangers FC and Dutch Rangers WFC midfielder, Tessel Middag, to participate in what has been reported as Glasgow’s largest ever Pride March.

“Ibrox Pride has a new committee this year who will be aiming to build on the fantastic work done by founding members Carole, Rhiannon, Colin, Paul and Watty.

“We are excited to carry on working with the Club and Charity Foundation to support greater inclusion of LGBTI people in Scottish Football. Glasgow Pride marks the starting point for us as we embark on our year long commitment to ensuring the removal of barriers which prevent LGBTI people from taking part in the game we all love. We will be communicating more details about our upcoming plans through our social media and email channels soon so make sure to follow follow us!”
