Event Terms and Conditions

Preliminaries
1)
SIMPLY THE WEST (the “event”)
2)
Thistle Treks Ltd, a private limited company (“the supplier”)
3)
By registering for the Event, you are agreeing to the following conditions of entry and any instructions given to you by the Rangers Charity Foundation and/or supplier.
4)
Rangers Charity Foundation (“RCF”) is the organiser of the event.
5)
These event Terms and Conditions contain important information regarding participation in the Event.

Event Details
1.
Each Participant will engage in a walk from Milngavie to Balmaha
2.
The Event will commence at Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow, G51 2XD
3.
The Event is scheduled to take place on Saturday 1st June 2024. However the event is subject to weather conditions being suitable, and an alternative date or walk may need to be arranged.
4.
A complimentary bus is being provided by Park’s Motor Group to take participants to the start point and back from Balmaha on the day of the climb.
5.
You must arrive at 7.30am at Ibrox Stadium. The walk will star at approximately 8.30am
6.
Rangers Charity Foundation reserves the right to alter the Event at any time.
7.
Rangers Charity Foundation reserves the right to cancel the Event at any time. If the Event is cancelled, entry fees and sponsorship will be refunded in full to Participants.
8.
RCF and Thistle Treks will try their best to make sure all participants get the opportunity to meet John Brown and Kevin Thomson.

Personal, Medical and Insurance Requirements
1.
Participants over the age of 16 are welcome to take part in the Event. Children aged 16 or 17 years old must take part alongside a responsible adult and be accompanied by an adult throughout the event. They must submit written permission from their parent or guardian.
2.
Both the participant and the accompanying adult must pay the entry fee and raise the minimum sponsorship.
3.
You are required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, including warm and wet weather clothing if required. The supplier will provide a kit list closer to the event.
4.
The participant acknowledges that participation in the event is physically strenuous and the participant is aware of the nature of the event and associated medical and physical risks involved. If necessary, participants should gain advice from their GP as to whether they are physically prepared to undertake the event. RCF does not conduct health or fitness checks on participants.
5.
Participants agrees not to participate unless they are medically and physically able, and that it is their responsibility to decide whether they are, and any child for whom they are responsible for is, medically and physically able to participate.
6.
The participant takes part at their own risk and agrees to indemnify Rangers Charity Foundation against any claims for loss or damage to personal property or for consequential losses or claims through your participation in the Event arising from your own actions.
7.
Rangers Charity Foundation will have no liability for any risk, loss or costs which you incur in connection with the Event.
8.
Rangers Charity Foundation or the supplier will not assume liability in the event of an injury. Personal accident insurance is recommended but is at the responsibility of each participant.
9.
You must comply with instructions provided to you on the day by Rangers Charity Foundation or the supplier.
10.
RCF or the Supplier reserves the right to refuse entry to the Event if participants are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Alcohol and Drugs (with the exception of prescription medication) are strictly forbidden at the event and any participant contravening this requirement will be asked to leave the event.
11.
Rangers Charity Foundation hereby reserves the right at its sole discretion not to allow you to participate in the Events if RCF or the supplier considers that your participation in the Event would affect your safety or the safety or enjoyment of other participants in the Event.

Registration and Sponsorship
1.
The registration fee is non-refundable (except as permitted in these Conditions).
2.
You must provide the details requested, which include Emergency Contact Name and Phone Number of someone who will be available on the day of the event. This must not be another participant in the event.
3.
Entry cannot be transferred to another person. If you can’t take part in the event please contact rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk
4.
In order to participate in the event you must raise a minimum of £250 in sponsorship. This is over and above the £30 entry fee.
5.
Once you have paid your entry, RCF will provide email confirmation of your entry plus a paper sponsor form and guidance to allow you to set up an online fundraising page.
6.
The participant can use sponsor forms or online platform Justgiving to raising money for Rangers Charity Foundation.
7.
When collecting sponsor money the participant will always act with fairness, honesty integrity and openness. The participant shall not exploit their position as fundraiser for personal gain.
8.
If seeking sponsorship from businesses, the participant must gain permission from the business owner to enter their premises.
9.
If collecting money on the streets please seek permission from Rangers Charity Foundation and the local authorities.
10.
Sponsorship money can be handed into RCF any time before or up to 4 weeks after the event, and we will also have staff on the day available to take in sponsorship money. Any
monies raised on Justgiving are automatically sent to RCF and we will have a note of this
on the day.
11.
If you raise money and then are unable to take part in the event due to mitigating circumstances, we will only accept sponsor money if you can provide a sponsor form with confirmation that sponsors are still happy to donate their money.
12.
Participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behaviour at all times. This includes respect for all people, equipment and facilities and cooperative, positive participation. RCF may dismiss, without refund, any Participant whose behaviour endangers safety or negatively affects the event, other participants, spectators, RCF staff or property of any type or kinds.
13.
You must comply with all relevant legislation when fundraising for the Event.

Photography/Images
1.
RCF may use any photographs, videos and/or sound recordings of the event which include any images of the participants for any purpose including, but not limited to, promoting, advertising and marketing purposes at any time after the event. If you do not want us to use photos of you please contact us as soon as possible on 0141 580 8775 or email rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk
Alcohol, Flares, Pyrotechnics
1.
Participants are not permitted to bring any alcohol or any type of flare or pyrotechnic to the Event. RCF reserves the right to refuse the participation of someone found carrying prohibited items. Bringing such items is dangerous to fellow participants and the environment and may result in emergency services being scrambled unnecessarily.

Food and Drink
1.
You are responsible for bringing sufficient food and drink e.g. water, energy drinks, sugary snacks, for the duration of the Event.

Data Protection
1.
The information we collect during the sign up process (including sensitive and medical information) may be passed onto the supplier for use by them to process and manage bookings with regards to Health and Safety. RCF will take reasonable steps to ensure that the supplier complies with GDPR.
2.
The RCF will only contact the participant about other news and events if you have given us permission to do so, if the participant no longer wishes to hear from us they should let us know via phone or email (0141 580 8775 rangerscharity@rangers.co.uk
