Diversity Wins

The Diversity Wins programme, delivered by the Rangers Charity Foundation in partnership with the Glasgow City Council, brings interactive workshops to P6 and P7 pupils across Glasgow schools. The sessions challenge discrimination, promote equality and build employability skills in a friendly, engaging and educational environment.

What the Programme Offers

In each workshop, pupils explore themes like discrimination, stereotyping, different job-skills and equality. For example:

  • Activities help pupils understand what discrimination and prejudice look like and how they can affect people.

  • Pupils participate in group games and discussions that promote respect, teamwork and positive relationships.

  • The programme links to employment pathways by showcasing the different skills required in various jobs.

In addition, the programme provides teachers with tools and plans for continuing the learning beyond the workshops. As a result, schools build stronger inclusive cultures.

Why the Programme Matters

Many young people carry biases or misunderstandings about diversity and equality that limit their own potential and affect others. However, the Diversity Wins programme actively changes that by:

  • Breaking down barriers between pupils of different backgrounds.

  • Promoting anti-bullying, respect and understanding.

  • Encouraging pupils to share what they learn with friends, families and their wider community.

Moreover, by helping pupils view diversity as a strength rather than a challenge, the programme supports better outcomes for school culture, pupils’ wellbeing and future employability.

Who Can Take Part?

The programme is designed for P6 & P7 pupils in Glasgow primary schools. Schools in the region can register to take part and deliver the workshop series.
Furthermore, school staff — including teachers and support staff — receive guidance and materials to integrate the learning into the classroom.
