Visually Impaired Football

Our Visually Impaired Football programme gives children and young people aged 8–18 with vision impairment — and others of all abilities — the opportunity to play football in a safe, inclusive and welcoming setting. The Rangers Charity Foundation delivers the sessions every other Sunday at Super Soccer, Scotland Street in Glasgow.

What the Programme Offers

Participants in the programme enjoy:

  • Free football sessions tailored to meet participants’ needs and abilities

  • Opportunities to build friendships, improve fitness and enjoy sport

  • A chance for parents and carers to join and connect, fostering support networks

In addition, each session provides fun, structured activities that encourage teamwork, confidence and social inclusion.

Why the Programme Matters

Many young people with vision impairment face barriers when accessing mainstream sport. However, this programme removes those barriers by:

  • Offering an environment where ability is valued rather than limited

  • Helping participants to gain physical activity, social interaction and self-confidence

  • Creating a place for children, young people, parents and carers to meet and support each other

Furthermore, the session frequency and friendly format mean that participants return regularly and build strong connections over time.

Who Can Take Part?

The programme is open to children and young people aged 8–18 who have a vision impairment — and to their peers of all abilities who want to join in for inclusive fun. There are no fees and no need for previous experience. Just come along, join in and have fun!
