RNIB Scotland

A shocking 96% of books in the UK never make it into a format a blind person can use.  That is why the Foundation decided to team up with The Royal National Institute of Blind People Scotland (RNIB) in season 2008/09 to make a difference to the lives of thousands of blind children in Scotland by raising £50,000 to increase the number of books available in Braille, audio and large print.

The project also facilitated the participation of children with sight loss in the Scottish Book Trust’s annual Children’s Book Awards for the first time ever, with the competition’s top three books being recorded into accessible formats.

RNIB Scotland is the country’s leading charity offering information, support and advice to over 200,000 Scots with sight loss.
