We’ve just unveiled the new Annual Review for our 20th anniversary season and it’s full of great news about the work we do, key facts and figures and examples of the amazing impact your Foundation has had on our community and the wider world. Take a look HERE to read the review in full!
We were able to champion and assist a range of local, national and international charity partners, including: Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity; Glasgow City Mission; Bowel Cancer UK, UNICEF UK as well as a range of armed forces charities.
During the year, our work in the community which now spans over 20 programmes, reached over 10,500 people; more than ever before. including our CashBack for Communities – Towards New Futures project which secured expanded funding from Scottish Government for a further three years.
An extensive suite of employability programmes for young people was delivered throughout the year, with our dedicated staff working hard to support deliver SQA Awards and support routes into positive destinations.
Our SQA Programme of Wider Achievement which sees pupils come to Ibrox for one day a week for the school term to learn in a different environment was expanded to 10 schools and continues to grow thanks to positive results.
Thousands of primary school pupils across Glasgow have benefited from a range of tailored educational programmes focused upon health and wellbeing and diversity and inclusion delivered by our inspiring community coaches.
We launched an expanded Recovery Drop-In Service and our Get Ready for Sport programme alone was delivered in 98 primary schools across the Glasgow area.
84 adults lost a collective total of over 320kg and 544cm from their waists thanks to our Football Fans in Training initiative. Our mental health and wellbeing programme provision grew with Team Talk Football added to our ongoing virtual Team Talk programme and Changing Room. Our full-time trauma counsellor continued to make a huge difference to our community programme participants in need of additional support.
We secured the long-term lease of the Ibrox Community Complex, and with the strong backing of the Club, are excited about all the opportunities which revitalising this facility will bring for the Foundation and the wider community.
We have continued to arrange for letters of support from first team players to be sent to those affected by illness, bereavement and provided special Dream Day experiences to those in real need of a boost.
The generosity of our supporters has been phenomenal this year! From our record-breaking 20th anniversary Charity Ball, to our Big Ibrox Sleep Outs, Blue All Over Fun Run and online auctions and raffles – we could never achieve so much for others without this incredible support.
Foundation Chief Executive Connal Cochrane commented:
