Past Projects
We are proud of the impact the Foundation and its supporters have made over the last five years and the list of projects we have helped to fund below shows just how much your support has achieved!
Season 2008/09
- We funded RNIB Scotland’s ambitious project designed to increase the number of Braille, large print and audio books available to Scotland’s 1,500 blind children who struggle to gain access to the stories their peers enjoy.
- Fairbridge in Glasgow received new sports equipment, including canoes, kayaks and a new trailer, as well as funds towards a residential canoe course and a series of healthy living courses for some of the city’s most vulnerable young people.
- We funded the first year of our three-year education project with UNICEF in India, buying books, teaching materials and classroom materials, campaigning to help young girls complete primary school, providing training to teachers and improving water and sanitation facilities.
Season 2007/08
- We funded the creation of a special Learning Garden in the grounds of The Scottish Centre for Children with Motor Impairments to help the children's walking abilities and encourage outdoor play.
- The Cystic Fibrosis Trust was able to purchase 50 new nebulisers, providing young young people in Scotland with a greatly improved quality of life whilst reducing the burden of care for parents and carers.
- We provided the British Red Cross with a much needed vehicle to provide an essential equipment delivery service to vulnerable people in West Central and South West Scotland who have little or no mobility.
Season 2006/07
- We funded a new sensory garden and adapted vehicle for Leonard Cheshire Foundation’s Fullwood Respite Centre in Knightswood
- We helped provide a fully equipped gym for Quarriers Seafield House residential school in Ardrossan
- Anthony Nolan Trust was able to increase the number of potential life-saving donors on their register through a series of clinics supported by the Foundation
Season 2005/06
- We provided Guide Dogs with a mobile transfer unit for dogs and their owners
- British Heart Foundation was able to buy 15 life-saving defibrillators for public places
- We funded National Deaf Children’s Society’s multi-purpose resource room for deaf children and their families in Yorkhill Children’s Hospital
Season 2004/05
- Our funding supported Sense Scotland in the development of the charity’s integrated resource centre in Kinning Park
- Capability Scotland created a new outdoor play area for the children of Stanmore House School
- Revive Scotland was able to fully-equip a mobile unit providing therapeutic services for people with MS in their own homes
Season 2003/04
- We funded a new ambulance for the Prince and Princes of Wales Hospice
- The Variety Club of Scotland was able to provide Linburn School for children with special needs with a new Sunshine coach
- Alzheimer Scotland refurbished their new dementia centre with our support
Season 2002/03
- We helped Shelter to run their Families Project which provides practical help and emotional support for vulnerable homeless parents and children in temporary accommodation
- We helped to fund a cancer information and psychological support service at the Maggies Cancer Care Centre in Glasgow
- Childline produced anti-bullying literature and packs for use in schools thanks to our support
